Meadowbrook Monarchs
A wispy 14-year-old made a buzz taking the reins of a Meadowbrook offense as a freshman.
He ran around and made plays, mostly with his legs.
Two seasons later, Desmond Coble was doing the same things, just much better.
Coble, a lefty, found his arm, striking for 1,553 yards and 16 scores, but still had his legs, running for 1,082 yards and 12 TDs.
He also converted three interceptions from his safety spot, returning one to paydirt. And, there’s good news and bad news.
The good news, Coble will return next season (last year Monarchs!). The bad news, Coble will return next season (sorry Central District).
