This past season Meadowbrook lived and died by the run.
Thanks to Torrean Crowell the Monarchs usually lived.
The 5-11 running back scored 21 touchdowns and had 1,224 yards on 155 attempts. He was Meadowbrook’s go-to player on offense as the Monarchs (9-3) advanced all the way to the Central Region, Division 6 championship before falling to Hermitage.
Crowell, who hopes to play at the next level, was selected first-team all-region at running back and is the third-ranked running back in the Richmond-area according to Position Specifics.
Crowell was not just an offensive threat though as he was first-team all-Central District as a linebacker and was repeatedly called on to cover the opponents best receivers. He finished the season with 42 total tackles (27 solo, 15 assists), three interceptions and four fumble recoveries.
